What is Fine Art Giclée Printing?

The word Giclée (“g-clay”), is derived from the French verb gicler meaning “to squirt or spray”, Giclée, is used to describe a fine art digital printing process combining pigment based inks with high quality Archival Fine Art paper to produce a print of superior archival quality, light fastness and stability.
All my Fine Art Archival Giclée Prints are created using the best carbon pigmented inks and techniques available on the market at the time of printing, Capable of producing an extremely wide tonal range and colour gamut. Guaranteed over 150 years.

What Is Baryta Paper?

Baryta is a special barium sulphate coating that is traditionally applied to a fibre photographic paper base prior to coating with the emulsion layers. The technical benefits of the Baryta layer include greater detail and definition, extended tonal range and excellent archival properties. In addition, Baryta coated fibre papers have a unique look and feel which have become the highest standard for museum quality Fine Art photography worldwide.

Also known as fibre based (FB), this paper has the photographic emulsion coated directly onto the fibres of the paper so, in processing, chemistry soaks into the paper making it much slower to process, wash and dry. FB papers also react much better than Resin-coated (RC) papers to toning and other special effects, and are available in a much greater variety of specialty finishes. FB papers are recommended for their archival permanence and for producing the most beautiful fine art and exhibition prints.

One of the main reasons for using Baryta paper with inkjet printing is the ability to use photo black pigment inks.

PERSONALIZED CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY: THE ARTWORK

My Giclée Fine Art Prints come with a Certificate of Authenticity & Personalized Hologram System designed specifically for the Author.

It is very important to understand that to make the Artwork truly unique and certified, a certificate+hologram from the author is a must. This is a process that neither the paper company nor the printer can and should do! They can certify the printing process and its quality, but not the uniqueness of the Artwork which can only be certified by the person who has created it. For this reason I had a specialized company produce a unique, personalized and serialized Hologram System just for my Artwork. For each print exists a unique hologram (2 copies identically numbered). One copy will be applied to the certificate and the second copy will go to the back of the artwork. I believe this will eliminate any risk of illegal and unauthorized reproduction.

HAHNEMÜHLE CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY: PAPER & PRINT QUALITY

My Giclée Fine Art Prints come with a Hahnemühle Certificate of Authenticity & Hologram System (for more info click here).

This certificate was designed to protect the security and genuineness of limited edition artworks and reproductions on Hahnemühle paper. The combination of certificate and serialized numbered holograms – one applied to the certificate and a second one (identically numbered) applied to the reverse side of the artwork – assures that each Certificate of Authenticity relates to one particular piece of art and certifies the production process.
