“Mono No Aware (Pathos): Contemplating the Fleeting Beauty and elegance in action.”
SUPER RARE – 1/1 Edition – Street Photography

Mono No Aware (Pathos): Contemplating the Fleeting Beauty and elegance in action. Street Photography from Yokohama (Japan) during Hanami (Cherry blossom when the Sakura is at its peak). The objective here was to freeze the moment yet retain some movement on the main subject (the hair of the woman, the dress, the shoe) to make the photo dynamic and more interesting. The woman walking out of frame was done intentionally to give the impression that she was leaving (this is the full image, not a crop). Also note that she is not a model but just someone walking by. These elements were combined to convey a feeling of fleeting beauty and elegance… no beauty will last forever, and the Sakura/Hanami itself is a symbol of the transience of beauty in Japanese culture.

 “Reflections… Into The Depth Of Life.”
SUPER RARE – 1/1 Edition – Street Photography

Street Photography from Kyoto (Japan) during a rainy day I am standing behind the man with the umbrella taking a picture of his reflection while he looks into the shop at the two women working. The idea was to create something like a double exposure but within a single shot. Part of the “WABI-SABI: Acceptance of transience” project. The Beauty of things that are imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete. I spent nearly 3 months around Japan trying to understand a profound and rooted Japanese concept that goes back many centuries… that of Wabi-Sabi. Wabi-Sabi is the quintessential Japanese aesthetic. It is the beauty of things imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete. It is a beauty of things modest and humble. It is a beauty of things unconventional… of everyday things… man-made, natural and the union of the two. With the following images (still an ongoing project) I am trying to render this deeply rooted concept of the Japanese philosophy and way of life.

 “Reflect On Yourself, The Dance Of Man And God.”
SUPER RARE – 1/1 Edition – Street Photography

The Great Buddha of Kamakura – Street Photography from Japan. In this photo, man is portrayed as a small entity in comparison with the greater powers at work: nature, energy, and the universe. The little man seems to be dancing in front of his God, which in reality is just a reflection of what he does not fully understand. I took this image keeping in mind some important compositional elements: – the small man is in direct contrast with the large reflection of the Buddha… this is done intentionally to balance it out. – the part of the Buddha at the top is the one missing in the reflection (the opposite is also true). – The leading lines of the pavement have been used to direct the viewer’s attention to the “real” main subject… the little man.

“Across quietness, he moves in peace.”
MANIFOLD – Minted on my own ERC721 Smart Contract!
Edition of 5 – Landscape Fine Art Photography

In this photograph, you can see several important compositional elements:
– the big white snowy part of the mountain is balanced by the small black boat in the other direction;
– the beautiful calm landscape is “broken” by the ripples created by the moving boat to give a more dynamic feel to the image;
– a series of horizontal lines which are very important to balanced the entire panoramic composition.
From the “WABI-SABI: Acceptance of transience. The Beauty of things that are Imperfect, Impermanent, Incomplete” series.

“Sakura-fubuki (桜吹雪) – WabiSabi Series”
MAKERSPLACE PLATFORM – Cinemagraph 4K
Animated Edition OF 5

Sakura-fubuki (桜吹雪) means “cherry blossom snowstorm”. Often cherry blossom petals dance in the spring wind, which from a distance can look like a storm of petals! I spent 4 weeks traveling around Japan to follow this wonderful event.

“The Creation”

An elegant and subtle animation of one of the photos I took while traveling around Sardinia (Italy). The island is full of beautiful junipers trees, amazing natural rock constructions and stunning landscapes. A location that takes the breath away.
When I was there it felt like life could have generated in this incredible place island. 4k animated photography with soundtrack.

MAKERSPLACE PLATFORM – 4K 1/1 Animated Edition

#01_TechTree (watch with the sound on) is the genesis audio-visual artwork in my new series on “Humanizing Technology” through photography. The humanization of technology has become one of the greatest challenges that our generation is facing from an ethical, social and environmental point of view. This series is an investigation and a conceptual response of the possibilities within the photographic media in the mixed context of modern/technological structures and natural elements.
